Baseball schedules and timezones

Baseball fans know that scheduling can make it harder to watch your team's weekday games. Each team is affected differently, depending on its season schedule, its home timezone, and the timezones of the other teams in its division.

These charts show how many games start early or end late for each of the 30 MLB teams, from the perspective of the team's hometown. For example, a Giants-Mets game being played in New York at 7:00pm would count as starting at 7:00pm for Mets fans and at 4:00pm for Giants fans.

Data is taken from the 2014 schedule, using Monday-Thursday games only. Game ending time is estimated based on the average length of games in the 2014 season (3:05).
